Post-Tension Slab Anomaly

The Problem

Client experienced unexplained water pooling near the kitchen island. A previous contractor proposed blind jackhammering of the 2018 post-tension slab to locate the leak, risking catastrophic structural failure.

The Methodology

We deployed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to map the tension cables. Secondary acoustic sonar pinpointed the exact fracture in a hot water manifold 8 inches below grade.

The Result

A surgical 2x2ft extraction was performed between tension cables. The line was repaired, and the structural vapor barrier was fully restored within 48 hours. Zero secondary damage occurred.

Repipe Avoidance Protocol

The Problem

Client observed a severe pressure drop in a 1930s historic property. They were quoted $32,000 for a total demolition repipe by a volume-based plumbing company.

The Methodology

We isolated the system and performed Hydrostatic Integrity Analysis. By systematically sectioning the property, we proved the issue was isolated to a single failed galvanized main junction under the driveway, not the interior walls.

The Result

Targeted replacement of the single exterior junction resolved the pressure issue entirely. The client saved over $25,000, and the historic interior lath and plaster walls remained untouched.
